I've had countless massages over the years, from countless therapists; Donald is truly the best of the best!

As an adult with juvenile onset scoliosis, back pain was always a part of my life.  Massage was one of very few ways to temporarily allay some of the discomfort of knotted, imbalanced musculature. I first consulted Donald in 2007 and was impressed by his knowledge of the human body and broad experience in treatment modalities.  He combined elements of deep tissue massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy to customize a routine specifically for MY needs.  I left feeling better than I had in years. While Donald provided as much non-invasive relief as possible, the pain from my curvature unfortunately increased as the discs above my curve, subjected to many years of extreme stress, began to protrude.  In February 2008, striving for permanent pain reduction, I underwent spinal fusion and instrumentation.  Ten levels of vertebra were fused together, and stabilizing rods screwed to each side of my spine. The surgery was a success in that my original pain vanished.  As happens with fusion surgery, however, new pains of varying degree can appear.  The body tends to fight its more correct posture, and at about 7 months post-op I eagerly sought Donald's services again. Many therapists refuse to work on a client with spinal hardware, and frankly, I wouldn't let just anyone *try*.  I had no qualms about placing my "new and improved", $160,000 back in Donald's hands; a testament to the level of trust I have in him. We reviewed and discussed my x-rays, where my new pains were located, and my comfort level on working each area.  Using that knowledge, and his extensive background, Donald customized a successful combination of active/passive treatment I truly can't live without.  He's complimented modern medicine in such a way I can genuinely say I am finally pain-free. For that, I'll be forever grateful.

Donald's massages are terrific. He offers a variety of modalities, and his extensive knowledge of anatomy gives him an expertise that is rare even in experienced massage therapists. But he also has an intuitive sense of the body that allows him to zone in on the particular kinks and aches in a client's muscles. He's a human tuning fork. Highly professional demeanor and atmosphere will put you at ease the moment you arrive. All you have to do is lie down and melt. Final thought: A good massage therapist knows the science. But a great one understands that the science is only the beginning, that massage is ultimately an art. And Donald is a gifted artist. Highly recommended.

Best Massage Experience Ever

Donald gives the best massage I've ever had - and I've had them in Europe, China, Australia and all over Houston. His deep tissue action works out the kinks and sends me into Nirvanic space WITHOUT the "oww dude! Does this really have to hurt so bad to make me feel good?" factor. Donald's private massage studio is the nicest I've ever been in - nicer than the 4 Seasons in Austin and the Houstonian in Houston. He's got a freakin' oriental rug under his top rate massage table, with floor to ceiling velvet curtains all around the room that create a fabulous sound warp. He digs into my back and I am transported to Venus. The racket in my head turns to static and then to silence. Plus - he's a lot more reasonably priced than all those "day spas," and he offers all types of massages including "hot rock" massage. On top of all of that - Donald is a true professor of the body. He has studied anatomy for years and in addition to his massage practice is a fantastic yoga teacher at Your Body Center in Houston. He also works out with weights, is a cycler and a runner - so he understands muscles stress. He knows about diet, too, but he's not a fanatic. I'm gonna shut up now so you can go get a massage....

Pure Potential Living... Therapy for the Soul

Donald is a true master at massage. He offers a variety of different massages to meet everyone's needs. I personally have tried four different styles - and wow, I love them all! I am partial to the Ashiatsu Oriental Bar massage, which provides a deep massage that really relaxes the muscles. His Deep Tissue massage is a wonder as well, removing all of the stress and knots that daily living can cause. The Thai massage provides relaxation through methodical stretching of the muscles. The massage I really can't rave enough about though is the Hot & Cold Stone massage - it does not provide intense pressure to the muscles, but rather relaxes one to a state that can only be called bliss! After my first Hot & Cold Stone, I was so intensely relaxed (body, mind and soul), I honestly had no concept of the meaning of time. Donald is very conscientious, professional and listens to the needs of his clientele. His workspace is warm, clean and invites total relaxation. He is also proactive about continuing education in an effort to learn new techniques and improving upon the masterful skills he already has. I highly recommend you try out Donald's skills for yourself. I know he give the best massage I have ever had. I give Pure Potential Living 10 stars!

Donald IS the massage master...

I rarely give 5 stars to anyone or anything but when you are under the influence of The Donald's hands, you know a master when you experience one. I doubt if you can get the same quality of massage with anyone else. He knows what he is doing, has the ability, background and bedside manner of a true professional in his field.

Best Massage - Stone, Thai and Deep Tissue in Houston!!!

Donald has an extremely good knowledge of physiology and technical massage. He has a unique and amazing ability to custom tailor a massage to an individual's needs. Every massage is different and special. I met Donald a few years ago at another studio, and moved with him to his new location, which is a beautiful and tranquil sanctuary. Donald consistently gives the best massage that I have every had.

Best therapeutic massage anywhere

I consider myself an expert on massages since I have been getting them for 30 years and also enjoy getting one in all my travels and noted several in Napa, CA., the Capital of wine and relaxation. However, the massages at Pure Potential are exactly that. I experienced all my muscles relaxed to their purest potential. The stone massage especially was complete euphoria. I have been spoiled by the standards advocated here and was very impressed with the knowledge of all the techniques applied. The cost is industry standards but the experience is far more superior. I most definitely recommend!

Brought back to light and ready to go massage!

From the first time I called to the moment I arrived I was treated with a great deal of care. I truly felt secure that Donald was well trained and had a sincere desire to help me. This Thursday will my eighth time using his services and I am happy to say I am a regular now!

Best deep tissue massage

In my experience, Donald is the best deep tissue masseuse anywhere. I believe his training in many different areas of bodywork developed his mastery of trigger points and deep work. Worldwide, I have benefited from two other talented individuals who understood how my pain and tension interact. Donald's comfortable environment and professionalism have made me a long term client.

Awesome Massage

I first met Donald when he was working at a different spa. His massages are extremely beneficial. I prefer both his LaStone and deep tissue massage modalities. I have received many massages in the past, and Donald's understanding of the human body and intuition on how to work my muscles is nothing like I have ever experienced from any other therapist. His hands melt my stress away, allowing me to completely unwind from an intense work-week. After moving to his own private studio, I continue to see him on a regular basis. Donald's new studio is absolutely beautiful. It is a quiet retreat and provides me the same pampered feeling one gets from visiting a large, commercial spa but at a more affordable price.
