THERAPEUTIC DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Therapeutic Deep Tissue massage is a Pure Potential
Living signature service. Through information gathering,
each deep tissue massage is specifically tailored to the current
need of the client and can include specialty work that utilizes
trigger point therapy, PNF stretching for increasing range
of motion, superficial and deep friction, aromatherapy, energy
work and healing touch as well as Thai yoga massage and stretching
techniques. Your deep tissue massage will focus on the
deeper layers of muscle tissue which can sometimes be overlooked.
Working these "muscles under muscles" using slow
and focused strokes can release chronic patterns of stress
and tension in the body. Pressure to deep tissues fibers is
applied by use of fingers, hands, elbows, and forearms and
can oftentimes produce sensations of pain and tingling and
cause some soreness during or right after the massage. A
deep tissue session can relieve pain as well as provide a deep
internal relaxation. More than with other types of
massage, deep tissue causes many toxins to be released so
it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep tissue
session to help eliminate these toxins from the body. |
LaSTONE® THERAPY™ - The Original Hot & Cold Stone Massage
LaStone® Therapy™ is a contemporary
approach to alternating temperatures in massage. An
authentic treatment instantly connects one's soul with
the blessings Mother Earth offers you daily; bringing warmth,
cooling, vibrations and sound through the application of
the stones to the body by honoring the breath and energies
of the soul. In short, your LaStone® massage
offers a peaceful way in which to return to your true nature.
LaStone® is
a multifaceted technique with therapeutic potential that
goes beyond measure. The physiological benefits of alternating
hot and cold to the body have long been scientifically
and medically proven. The stones are the medium and the
hot and cold temperatures are the message. This "vascular
gymnastics" of the circulatory system assists the
body in self-healing. LaStone® Therapy™ administers
this principle with unerring elegance; producing sedative
and re-energizing responses to the body. This form of bodywork
involves the use of heated and cooled stones; Geo-Thermo-Therapy,
applied to the body in various ways to bring about relief
to stiff and sore muscles; resulting in alleviation of
chronic and acute problems that many of us deal with on
a daily basis. A LaStone® massage may very well
be the most relaxing massage you’ve ever experienced. |
ASHIATSU ORIENTAL BAR THERAPY®
Ashiatsu (ashi means foot and atsu means pressure) is an ancient form of bodywork brought to us by Buddhist monks. It is an adaptation of an ancient form of barefoot massage that utilizes deep compression effleurage strokes to glide over the body. Gravitational force is combined with centrifugal and centripetal movements to bring about a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. Ashiatsu provides deep relaxation and stimulates the lymphatic system of the body while producing myofacial release. In this modality of massage, your therapist shares the massage table with you and ensures proper draping techniques are employed so that only the areas being worked are exposed. Bars are used by the therapist overhead to help with balance and to provide a means to regulate pressure onto the body.

SPORTS
MASSAGE
Sports
Massage is a specific form of massage used before, during,
and after athletic events. It can prepare an athlete for
peak performance, aid in injury prevention by promoting flexibility
and increasing range of motion, eliminate fatigue, and reduce
muscle tension. The main purpose of a sports massage is to
alleviate the body's soft tissues of stress and tension which
tend to increase during the high demands placed on it by
today's sports-related physical activities. Designed to work
out problem spots, a sports massage can be as intense as
it is therapeutic. By applying deep pressure to problem areas,
sports massage helps to relieve chronic pain caused by muscle breakdown, toxin build up
and overall fatigue. |

SWEDISH
MASSAGE
Swedish Massage
is the most common form of massage therapy. This modality
of massage is designed primarily to promote relaxation by increasing
oxygen flow in the blood and releasing toxins from the muscles. To
increase circulation, Swedish massage utilizes a variety of strokes
which follow the same direction as the flow of blood returning to
the heart. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain
by flushing the tissues of metabolic wastes. It stretches ligaments
and tendons keeping them supple and pliable, increases blood flow
to the skin and stimulates the nervous system. It reduces emotional
and physical stress and is recommended in a regular program for stress
management. |

THAI
(YOGA) MASSAGE
Thai massage is a combination of acupressure, yoga
stretching and zen shiatsu inspired by Buddhist teachings passed down
for centuries. Also known as "lazy
man's yoga," Thai massage is performed on a floor mat with the
client clothed in loose fitting wear. Although there is passive/assisted
movement performed,the
light compression work to the major meridians makes for a very relaxing
and therapeutic session. The Thai massage practitioner works to free
tension within the body by stimulating SEN (energy) lines using their hands, elbows, knees and feet. Yoga
enthusiasts can benefit from this type of massage as well because
it is impossible, no matter how flexible you are, to stretch yourself
to full range without engaging other muscle groups. |

REFLEXOLOGY
THERAPY / MASSAGE
Reflexology is a therapeutic modality
based on an ancient art founded on the basis that areas of
the feet are comprised of meridians, zones, and reflex areas
which correspond to all glands, organs, and bodily systems.
Reflexology uses focused pressure to these reflex and energy
points located in the foot to create physiological improvements
within the body. Benefits of a reflexology session include
increased circulation, relaxation, release of tension and
stress, restoration of the body's natural balance, and an
overall sense of revitalization. Simply put, reflexology
therapy promotes the body's natural healing abilities. A
reflexology session typically fills an hour-long session.
However, a shortened reflexology treatment ranging from 10-30
minutes can be used within any massage session you choose. |

AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy is the ancient practice of using essential oils
from plants to heal, alleviate pain and regulate mood.
Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts,
derived from leaves, bark, roots, seed resins and flowers.
In an aromatherapy massage, essential oils are mixed with
a carrier lotion or oil for specific benefit. The therapist
can use up to five oils in a blend, and chooses the oils
based on what the client's need or request. A relaxing
aromatherapy massage, for instance, might have lavender
or bergamot, while a massage for sore muscles might include
peppermint and eucalyptus. Used in conjunction with any
massage session, aromatherapy can heighten your massage
experience. |

EAR CANDLING
Ear candling the process of removing the build up of excess wax and other toxins from the ears. It is a simple, safe and natural ear-cleaning technique using a hollow cone, which has one end burning, and the other end set at the opening of the ear canal. This creates a slight vacuum effect that will gently loosen and remove the excess wax and toxins that can accumulate in the ear canal. The ear contains nerve endings and acupuncture points that carry our life force or life energy. If this flow of subtle energy is blocked by debris build up, it can block the stream of subtle energy that connects to the body, mind, and emotions. Ear candling acts as a catalyst that can clear out the debris accumulated on the nerve endings. This allows for a clear vibrational flow of life energy to the corresponding areas of the mind, body, and spirit and can clear the way for other methods of healing. Recipients describe the treatment as pleasant and relaxing. |
